In 365 days, I will be an Ironman.
As of July 28sth will mark the 1 year countdown to my first Ironman distance race. After racing and coaching triathlon for over 12 years, I have decided that the year I turn 50 will be that marker to push myself to a new challenge.
I am starting this journey blog called “Respect the Distance” that will then be turned into a book after the race. This book will be the accounting of how I got started in Triathlon, my progression through racing and coaching, my decision to push the distance along with Training Tips, Race Reviews, Product, Technology and Gizmo reviews, Analyzing different training techniques, daily workout data, and a full Ironman training plan. This will be a very in-depth accounting of all that is triathlon in the perspective of a middle aged Age-Grouper, female, mother, & business owner. I hope to inspire and encourage you through my experiences to reach outside your comfort zone and really see just how far you can go.
I look forward to the next year and this giant leap of faith that I am ready to go further than ever before, knowing that I will not be the same person on the other side of that finish line.
Will you join me on this adventure?
